Gwenyth Easterling, a 20-year-old native of Chicago, has been developing her entrepreneurial endeavors since she was 15 years old. Gwenyth, a driven student at A&T University in Greensboro, North Carolina, holds office as a senator of College of Business and Economics vice president of Beta Gamma Sigma, and landed a summer 2023 Nike Internship. IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) advocate and survivor Gwenyth has spoken at various events to spread knowledge and offer support to individuals who are suffering from the autoimmune disease. This does see led to the creation of Pretty Penny Company, Gwenyth found a need to help herself and others look better as they may not feel their best inside. The slogan “Look Good. Feel Good. Do Better.” She made the decision to take matters into her own hands and launch a company that would not only empower young women, but also be eco-friendly and sustainable. After discovering the lack of representation of young educated women, and the lack of sustainable small-owned products in the lux beauty industry, Gwenyth chose the name Pretty Penny for her company in homage to her childhood moniker "Gweny-Penny." Pretty Penny sells edge control , lip glosses, and lip liner combos that are vegan and cruelty-free. All items are made to accentuate the beauty and glitz of young women who want to exhibit their femininity in an environmentally responsible manner. The "Pretty Girls Recycle" campaign to inspire women to participate in Pretty Penny's sustainability efforts. Through this program, users can exchange their recyclable tubes for a discount on their subsequent purchases. While using the high-end items, Gwenyth hopes that this effort will inspire customers to consider their environmental impact more carefully.
